About the Role
SNV is an international development organization committed to poverty alleviation and sustainable livelihoods. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Youth Employment and Mobilisation Advisor to lead day-to-day project implementation in our targeted regions. In this role, you will empower youth- and women-led green enterprises, transforming adapted-crop value chains and markets to foster competitive entrepreneurship and dignified employment.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate active participation, community trust-building, and stakeholder engagement.
- Identify and promote business opportunities for new youth-led micro and small enterprises (MSEs) and wage employment.
- Mobilize, organize, and profile youth groups for engagement in adapted-crop value chain activities.
- Facilitate the provision of basic life, business, and technical skills training in partnership with service providers and employers.
- Establish youth representative advisory structures and engage enterprises for apprenticeships and on-the-job training.
- Link youth-led MSEs with financial institutions and business development services to secure startup funding and growth capital.
- Ensure regular project data collection, timely reporting, and documentation of lessons learned.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably a Master's degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, Community Development, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in enterprise development, agribusiness, youth employment, microfinance, or community livelihoods.
- Strong grassroots community facilitation, networking, and partnership-building skills.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, fluency in the local language, and a deep understanding of target community cultures.
- Proficiency in computer applications and willingness to frequently travel to project locations.
