About the Role
SNV is seeking a dynamic and experienced Agribusiness and Livelihoods Advisor to provide vital technical insights and advisory services for our sustainable development projects in Nigeria. In this role, you will champion inclusive livelihood strategies, empowering young women and men to thrive as competitive agri-preneurs, employees, and job creators within key crop, livestock, and horticulture value chains.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the implementation of sustainability and inclusive livelihood strategies targeting youth and women in selected agricultural value chains.
- Conduct sector assessments and market analyses to identify profitable agribusiness opportunities tailored to rural young women and youth groups.
- Facilitate market linkages, business development services, and public-private partnerships to enhance youth participation in agriculture.
- Design and deliver market-relevant, youth-oriented employability skills training and coordinate coaching activities.
- Contribute to annual, quarterly, and monthly work planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring accurate reporting of project deliverables.
- Strengthen research-informed policy instruments and investment readiness to build an enabling business environment for young agri-preneurs.
- Master’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience combining development and private sector agribusiness operations.
- At least 5 years of experience in designing and implementing complex, multi-sectoral agricultural development projects.
- Proven expertise in value chain development, climate-smart agriculture, and green jobs for youth in Nigeria.
- Strong relationship management, negotiation, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication, reporting, and presentation skills with a willingness to travel to project locations.
