About the Role
Amao College is an esteemed independent co-educational day school located within the Akingbile community along Oyo Road, Ibadan. Established in September 2007 with official approval received in December 2009, our college has a proud history of academic excellence and preparing students for success, including presenting candidates for the BECE examinations since 2010. We are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Yoruba Language Teacher to join our dedicated academic team and contribute to our vibrant learning community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging, comprehensive Yoruba language and literature lessons in accordance with the Nigerian secondary school curriculum.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic improvement.
- Foster an inclusive, culturally rich classroom environment that encourages active student participation and a love for the Yoruba language and heritage.
- Prepare students effectively for internal examinations as well as external assessments such as the BECE.
- Participate in school co-curricular activities, cultural events, and professional meetings as required by school management.
- Possession of an M.Sc, M.A, B.Sc, B.Tech, or B.Ed Degree from a recognized institution, preferably in Yoruba Language, Education, or related fields.
- Strong command of both written and spoken Yoruba and English languages.
- Demonstrated passion for teaching and mentoring young minds in a secondary school setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Prior teaching experience in a reputable co-educational college will be an added advantage.
