About the Role
Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, is dedicated to improving the health of women and families globally through evidence-based interventions. Through the MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership-Integrated Health Project (MCGL-IHP), Jhpiego is seeking a qualified Routine Immunization Trainer to lead comprehensive capacity-building initiatives for frontline health workers in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. This consultancy aims to enhance provider competencies, streamline adherence to national immunization protocols, and ultimately reduce child morbidity and mortality.
Key Responsibilities- Review national Basic Guide for Immunization Service Providers and align training content with Jhpiego standards.
- Develop and adapt training agendas, session guides, presentations, and practical exercises.
- Deliver engaging training modules using adult learning methodologies and participatory approaches.
- Facilitate hands-on sessions covering REW Microplanning, session planning, vaccine logistics, supply chain, and waste management.
- Lead immunization data management training, adverse events monitoring, role plays, and practical simulations.
- Document and submit comprehensive training reports including pre/post-test analysis, skills assessments, and actionable recommendations.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related child health field; advanced degrees are preferred.
- Officially certified Routine Immunization Trainer.
- At least 5 years of proven experience conducting immunization trainings and capacity-building programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in applying adult learning and competency-based training methodologies.
- Strong working experience with Nigerian government health institutions and development partners.
- Exceptional report-writing, communication, and data interpretation skills.
