About the Role
Obek Group of Companies Limited (OBEK Group), a leading international conglomerate involved in energy services and large-scale EPCIC projects, is seeking a dynamic Well Services Superintendent to join our team in Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will provide senior operational and technical governance for all completion, workover, intervention, and specialist well-service activities. You will convert approved well objectives into safe, execution-ready programmes while driving NPT reduction and service quality across our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Translate approved strategies into executable well-services operations plans, intervention schedules, and field performance objectives.
- Lead operational readiness reviews, technical assurance gate checks, and risk assessments for coiled tubing, wireline, pumping, and well-testing campaigns.
- Ensure strict adherence to well-control frameworks, primary/secondary barrier management, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Oversee service-company performance, equipment readiness, contractor management, and logistics integration to optimize budget and schedule targets.
- Drive continuous improvement through post-job reviews, technical limit performance, and innovative digital well-delivery solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related Engineering discipline; Master’s degree or professional registration is an advantage.
- Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in completions, workovers, and well interventions, with at least 5 years in a senior supervisory or superintendent role.
- Current or recent IWCF/IADC well-control certification at a supervisory or engineering level.
- Demonstrated expertise in operational risk management, well integrity, cost optimization, and high-hazard decision making.
- Strong background in building and mentoring multidisciplinary engineering and field operations teams.
