We are currently looking for a qualified Well Safety Supervisor to join our operations in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will be responsible for enforcing strict safety protocols, conducting rigorous risk assessments, and ensuring that all wellsite activities adhere to the highest international safety standards. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge of drilling operations with exceptional leadership capabilities to foster a proactive safety culture on-site.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor all wellsite operations to ensure strict compliance with company HSE policies, industry standards, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
- Conduct daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and routine safety inspections across the drilling rig.
- Identify potential hazards, evaluate operational risks, and implement effective mitigation measures immediately.
- Supervise emergency response drills and ensure that all crew members are well-trained in blow-out prevention and evacuation procedures.
- Investigate any near-misses, incidents, or accidents, providing comprehensive root-cause analysis reports and corrective action plans.
- Liaise closely with rig management and client representatives to maintain seamless communication on all health and safety matters.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on safety supervision experience within the upstream Oil and Gas sector, specifically in drilling and completions.
- Valid industry certifications such as NEBOSH, IWCF, BOSIET, and other relevant well control credentials.
- Demonstrated expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence personnel at all levels.
