About the Role
Jumia is the leading online shopping platform in Nigeria, connecting millions of consumers with trusted vendors for electronics, fashion, home appliances, and more. We are currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven Last Mile Manager - Door Delivery to join our operations team in Port Harcourt. In this role, you will lead and optimize last-mile door delivery operations within your assigned region, managing delivery teams, hub-level performance, and third-party logistics partnerships to deliver an exceptional customer experience while meeting strict unit economics targets.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end door delivery operations for the assigned region, ensuring consistent service quality and on-time delivery performance.
- Oversee daily delivery operations, including route planning, driver allocation, capacity management, and delivery execution across hubs.
- Design and own the regional Last Mile unit cost strategy, balancing customer and vendor experience targets with overall unit economics.
- Monitor performance against key KPIs such as E2E delivery time, pending remittances, closed success rate, and customer satisfaction.
- Scale up the last mile footprint within the region, including third-party logistics expansion, pickup station growth, and delivery associate hiring.
- Build and manage the regional third-party logistics community, maintaining strong relationships with delivery partners and courier services.
- Manage fleet operations, team structures, and operational costs while fostering a culture of best-in-class material handling.
- Develop and manage the regional operational budget, analyzing delivery costs per package and implementing effective cost-reduction strategies.
- Coach, lead, and develop hub-level team leads and delivery associates to build high-performing operational teams.
- Act as the regional escalation point for high-impact delivery issues, customer complaints, or operational disruptions.
- Collaborate closely with warehouse operations, transport management, IT, and customer service teams to ensure seamless regional workflows.
- Utilize data analytics and dashboards to detect trends, identify bottlenecks, and drive informed decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in logistics operations, last-mile delivery, or supply chain management in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong background in e-commerce, courier services, or retail distribution managing both in-house teams and third-party logistics partners.
- Excellent knowledge of last-mile logistics, fleet management, and local market operational dynamics in Nigeria.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced logistics tracking systems.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
- Customer-centric mindset with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service standards.
- Must possess an NYSC certificate or a valid exemption letter.
- Must be currently based in or willing to reside in Port Harcourt.
