About the Role
The Young Urban Women Movement Nigeria is a feminist advocacy initiative supported by ActionAid Nigeria that empowers young women to challenge systemic inequality, demand social justice, and build active agency in their communities. We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Website Developer to maintain, optimize, and scale our digital platforms. In this role, you will play a crucial part in amplifying our advocacy campaigns, enhancing user engagement, and ensuring our online resources effectively reach and support young women across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain the organization's official website and associated digital platforms.
- Ensure mobile responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and optimal website performance.
- Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect user data and prevent downtime.
- Collaborate with the communications and advocacy teams to update content, campaign pages, and resources regularly.
- Integrate SEO best practices to improve search engine visibility and organic reach.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, fix bugs, and provide ongoing technical support.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field.
- Proven professional experience in website design, development, and content management systems (such as WordPress).
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Demonstrated passion for feminist principles, women's rights, and social justice advocacy in Nigeria.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict project deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
