About the Role
Airtel, a leading global telecommunications provider, is looking for a dynamic and innovative IT Application Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Nigeria. In this role, you will act as a key Individual Contributor within the OPCO Apps team, leading the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications that impact millions of customers across Africa.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust full-stack applications using Python, Node.js, JavaScript, and Flutter.
- Design, optimize, and manage complex database solutions across MongoDB, Postgres, and Oracle, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
- Drive cloud-native deployments utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher, while maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Build and secure RESTful APIs, microservices, and seamless integrations with internal and third-party platforms.
- Enforce strict engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and implement automated testing to minimize production defects.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure compliance with security and telecom regulatory standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience with a strong background in backend and mobile technologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in Python, Node.js, and Flutter development, alongside strong Linux systems proficiency.
- Extensive hands-on experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher) and databases (MongoDB, Postgres, Oracle).
- Relevant certifications such as CKA, CKAD, AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud Developer, or database-specific credentials are a strong advantage.
