About the Role
The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE) was established on March 14, 2024, with the mandate to improve the healthcare needs of Nigerians and increase manpower output in the sector. Evolving from the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, FUAHSE is committed to training innovative, skilled, and proactive professionals in allied health sciences. We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Washman to join our support staff, ensuring that university facilities, linens, and garments maintain optimal standards of hygiene and presentation in support of our academic and clinical environments.
Key Responsibilities- Wash, dry, fold, and iron university linens, uniforms, lab coats, and other assigned textiles efficiently and carefully.
- Inspect laundered items for defects or stains and rewash or report them as necessary.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laundry area in compliance with institutional health and safety standards.
- Coordinate with department heads to ensure timely collection, laundering, and delivery of items.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions promptly to the appropriate facility management team.
- Possession of relevant primary or secondary school education, along with demonstrable practical experience in commercial or institutional laundry operations.
- Proven ability to demonstrate high levels of integrity, competence, and reliability in daily duties.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with staff, students, and university management.
- Strong commitment to upholding the health, safety, and operational objectives of the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu.
