About the Role
New Foundation for Displaced Persons (NFDP) is a leading non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting individuals and communities displaced by insurgency and crises to survive, recover, and rebuild their lives. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end procurement cycle, manage fleet and logistics operations, and ensure strict compliance with organizational and donor guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Administer NFDP procurement policies, procedures, and fleet management systems in strict compliance with Nigerian law and donor requirements.
- Engage with local, national, and international vendors to guarantee high-quality goods and services while maintaining professional ethical standards.
- Coordinate delivery logistics, transportation, permits, authorizations, insurance, loading, and unloading of materials for grants and operations.
- Prepare budgets, solicit quotations, conduct market analysis, negotiate terms, and recommend reliable vendors for project implementation.
- Manage logistics-related contracts and evaluate outsourced fleet service providers to ensure optimal performance and service quality.
- Maintain a comprehensive registry and filing system for all procurements to facilitate efficient document and financial audits.
- Promote a culture of integrity, compliance, and zero tolerance for fraud, corruption, and sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) across all operations.
- Minimum of a National Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related Social Sciences.
- At least 2 years of proven experience managing procurement, supply chain, and data management within an international NGO or similar organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operational logistics, fleet management, and donor compliance standards.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with professional proficiency in Hausa and Kanuri being a strong advantage.
- Strong proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word, with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
