About the Role
UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to protect the rights of every child. In Nigeria, UNICEF promotes child survival, development, and protection in partnership with government and civil society. We are currently seeking a dynamic National Consultant to spearhead the ASWA III Systems Strengthening and Knowledge Management initiative, enhancing climate-resilient, gender-transformative WASH services.
Key Responsibilities- Develop 4 high-impact knowledge products documenting progress on climate resilience, sustainability, and gender-transformative WASH.
- Establish monitoring indicators and collect baseline data (2024-2026) for health and education outcomes in targeted LGAs across Kaduna and Adamawa states.
- Support state and federal governments in advancing sustainability response plans and implementing the Hand Hygiene for All (HOSI) roadmap.
- Provide actionable recommendations for adaptive management, enhancing programme effectiveness and long-term sustainability.
- Advanced university degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Social Sciences, WASH Engineering, Monitoring and Evaluation, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in WASH and public health sectors.
- Proven expertise in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), knowledge management, and evidence-based policy advocacy.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with government institutions, UN agencies, and local stakeholders in development contexts.
- Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of Hausa and familiarity with Northern Nigeria context is a strong asset.
- Contribute directly to improving foundational health, education, and WASH outcomes for vulnerable communities in Nigeria.
- Collaborate with a globally recognized United Nations agency committed to child rights and sustainable development.
