About the Role
ActiveEdge Technologies is seeking an experienced VP Software Engineering to lead our technology vision and drive the development of innovative software solutions. This strategic leadership role offers the opportunity to shape our product roadmap, mentor world-class engineering teams, and deliver impactful solutions across multiple market segments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and communicate strategic vision, technology roadmap, and software development strategy aligned with business objectives
- Oversee the complete product development lifecycle including architecture design, agile implementation, DevOps, and release management
- Lead and mentor a diverse technical team, fostering engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous professional development
- Collaborate with product, innovation, and project stakeholders to define scope, priorities, and delivery timelines
- Research emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance product quality and performance
- Establish coding standards and ensure secure, scalable, maintainable software development practices
- Contribute to business development activities including technical proposals, client demonstrations, and pre-sales support
- Monitor team performance, prepare progress reports, and communicate achievements to executive leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years in senior technology leadership roles (VP or Head of Engineering experience required)
- Proven expertise in backend technologies: Node.js, Java (Spring Boot), or Python (FastAPI/Django)
- Strong knowledge of frontend frameworks: React, Next.js, and JavaScript
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale technology projects and leading distributed teams
- Deep understanding of cloud computing, system architecture, cybersecurity, and data management
- Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities
- Experience with technology budgeting, financial planning, and cost optimization
- Visionary leadership with adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Occasional evening and weekend availability to meet project deadlines
- Some travel required for client engagements and project support
