About the Role
The Digital Rights and Mental Health Initiative Africa (DRMHI), founded by Kauna Malgwi, focuses on the intersection of digital labor, technology-driven harms, and psychological well-being. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance/Accounting Volunteer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our financial documentation, record-keeping, and budget monitoring processes while gaining valuable exposure to nonprofit finance operations under professional supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and maintain accurate financial records and physical or digital files.
- Assist the finance team with daily financial documentation and transaction filing.
- Support the preparation of periodic financial reports and audit documentation.
- Assist with budget tracking, data entry, and regular account reconciliation tasks.
- Maintain up-to-date financial trackers and ensure strict confidentiality of all organizational financial information.
- Contribute to the execution of bi-monthly work plans and respond promptly to official communications.
- Participate in other approved accounting and administrative activities as assigned.
- BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Sound understanding of basic accounting principles and financial management practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications.
- High level of integrity, strong attention to detail, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Must possess a working personal laptop and reliable internet access for remote tasks.
- Minimum availability of ten (10) hours per week.
- Willingness to report physically to the DRMHI office once weekly, as agreed upon, if applicable.
