About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy Verification Officer to join our growing team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our financial operations by conducting thorough background checks and risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive customer, address, employment, and document verification for loan applicants.
- Carry out rigorous field verifications and prepare accurate, actionable verification reports.
- Validate all information provided by customers to identify inconsistencies, discrepancies, and potential red flags.
- Maintain proper, confidential records and documentation of all daily verification activities.
- Collaborate closely with the Credit, Operations, Risk, Recovery, and Compliance teams to mitigate financial risks.
- Ensure all verification activities strictly comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- HND or B.Sc Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of proven experience in verification, credit analysis, banking operations, or a related financial role.
- Proficiency in basic IT tools, digital platforms, and social media for investigative purposes.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
- Previous working experience in a Microfinance Bank or financial institution is a strong added advantage.
- Ability to drive and possession of a valid driver's license will be an added advantage.
