About the Role
Albarka Healthspring Foundation (AHSF) is a dynamic non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations across North East Nigeria. Operating in both emergency and developmental contexts, we bridge critical community gaps through resource-based planning. We are currently seeking a young, motivated Internal Audit and Compliance Intern to join our dedicated team in Abuja.
Key Responsibilities- Support audit planning, execution, and follow-up activities across various departments and projects.
- Review payment requests, vouchers, and financial records for proper coding and adequate supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparing accurate bank reconciliation statements and reviewing administrative logs, including vehicle usage and fuel consumption.
- Ensure strict compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and relevant Nigerian regulatory standards.
- Help prepare comprehensive audit working papers, compliance reports, and maintain organized archiving systems.
- Minimum of a B.Sc. in Accounting or Banking and Finance with First Class or Upper Second-Class honors.
- Must be an NYSC Corp member currently serving or a prospective Corp member based in Abuja.
- At least 1 year of cognate experience in accounting, auditing services, or financial documentation.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office productivity tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
- Gain valuable hands-on experience in nonprofit auditing, risk assessment, and donor compliance.
