About the Role
Bell Oil & Gas is a leading wholly-owned Nigerian independent oil services company delivering high-quality products and services to the energy sector. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Valve Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the reliability and safety of various industrial valves across plant and client locations, supporting both onshore and offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform repair, overhaul, and testing of various valve types including ball, gate, butterfly, and safety relief valves.
- Conduct thorough disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly, and testing of valves at the plant and client sites.
- Execute hydrostatic, pneumatic, and seat leakage testing in strict adherence to quality control standards.
- Follow technical schematics, P&IDs, GA drawings, and documented procedures meticulously.
- Complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs accurately.
- Travel to job sites and adhere strictly to all site safety and performance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with co-workers, management, and HSE officers to maintain compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide timely updates to management and customers, and support offshore and onshore plant shutdowns.
- Minimum of an OND, HND, or B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3 to 7 years of hands-on industrial valve repair experience.
- Strong familiarity with tools, machinery, and precision measuring instruments required for daily valve maintenance.
- Proven experience repairing various valves and actuators, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric systems.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, safety rules, and technical manuals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- Previous offshore experience will be a distinct advantage.
