About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Unix System Administrator with strong expertise as a Rancher Specialist to bridge traditional enterprise Linux administration with modern cloud-native container infrastructure, ensuring high availability, robust security, and seamless application delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, configure, and manage enterprise Kubernetes clusters across production and non-production environments using SUSE Rancher.
  • Administer, install, and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Solaris, and Oracle Linux server environments.
  • Execute proactive performance monitoring, capacity planning, and comprehensive troubleshooting for system bottlenecks and cluster health.
  • Implement robust data protection strategies, including regular backup and disaster recovery procedures using Velero and traditional OS tools.
  • Partner with security teams to apply system hardening, manage RBAC, and enforce container security best practices.
  • Coordinate with principal vendors such as Red Hat, Oracle, and SUSE to conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex incidents.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of hands-on Unix/Linux system administration experience, with at least 2 years actively managing Kubernetes and Rancher environments.
  • Essential certifications include Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
  • Desired credentials include Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Rancher certifications, or ITIL v4 Foundation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in scripting automation using Bash or Python, along with strong knowledge of SELinux and firewall management.
