About the Role
Synergy Wellcare Medicaid Limited, an indigenous and customer-centric Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Underwriter to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing health insurance plans, managing risk, and driving our organizational profitability while delivering exceptional healthcare solutions to our diverse corporate and individual clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead underwriting processes for individual, group, SME, and corporate HMO plans.
- Assess health and financial risks to determine appropriate pricing, benefits, and exclusions.
- Analyze claims trends, utilization patterns, and provider costs to optimize plan performance.
- Design and review customized health plans aligned with client needs and profitability objectives.
- Collaborate with Business Development, Claims, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure commercially viable proposals.
- Participate in client negotiations regarding pricing, benefit structures, and coverage terms.
- Bachelor's Degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of cognate experience in an HMO or health insurance organization.
- Relevant professional certifications in insurance or health management will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, financial evaluation, and risk-management skills.
