About the Role
Scruples Resources, a leading provider of consultancy services and human resource development for the Nigerian economy, is seeking a dedicated Underwater Inspection Technician. In this vital offshore role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and operational efficiency of marine facilities, subsea structures, and pipelines.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct underwater visual inspections of subsea structures, pipelines, risers, and marine facilities using diving equipment and ROVs.
- Identify, document, and report structural anomalies such as corrosion, cracks, weld defects, and coating deterioration.
- Perform dimensional measurements and non-destructive testing (NDT) activities where qualified.
- Collect precise photographic, video, and condition-monitoring data for engineering evaluation.
- Prepare comprehensive technical inspection reports including defect descriptions and actionable recommendations.
- Participate actively in risk assessments, safety meetings, and permit-to-work procedures while strictly adhering to company HSE standards.
- Diploma, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Marine, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Relevant commercial diving or subsea inspection certifications.
- Preferred NDT certification such as UT, MPI, DPI, or Visual Testing (VT).
- Demonstrated offshore experience in underwater inspection, marine construction, or the oil and gas industry.
- Valid offshore safety and medical certifications.
- Strong analytical, technical report-writing, and communication skills.
