About the Role
The Dangote Group is one of Africa’s largest diversified business conglomerates with a reputation for operational excellence and quality. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Draughtsman to join our dynamic Engineering and Maintenance team at our operational headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our mechanical, electrical, civil, and instrumentation engineering teams by delivering precise technical drawings and documentation for our manufacturing plants and capital projects.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, fabrication diagrams, assembly drawings, and schematics based on project specifications.
- Update and maintain existing plant drawings to accurately reflect modifications, equipment changes, and expansion projects.
- Convert field measurements, sketches, and engineering calculations into precise technical designs and As-Built drawings.
- Conduct site verifications and measurements to ensure the absolute accuracy of technical layouts and installations.
- Manage drawing and document control systems, organizing technical records and revision registers according to company standards.
- Provide continuous drafting support for plant maintenance shutdowns, upgrades, and large-scale industrial projects.
- National Diploma (ND) in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Drafting Technology, or a related technical discipline; or relevant Trade Test Grade I, II, and III certificates.
- Minimum of three (3) years of industrial drafting experience within manufacturing, cement, petrochemical, oil and gas, or power sectors.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software applications.
- Strong working knowledge of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), General Arrangement drawings, and engineering schematics.
- Professional certifications such as AutoCAD Certified User or Autodesk Certified Professional will be an added advantage.
