About the Role
Uniccon Group is building Africa’s economy through innovative technology solutions, and we are currently seeking a skilled UAV Composite Manufacturing Technician to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will physically fabricate, cure, assemble, and repair lightweight composite airframe structures, turning advanced technical engineering designs into flight-ready UAV components with precision and excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare molds using release agents and surface preparation techniques, execute wet or prepreg carbon fiber and fiberglass layups, and integrate core materials like foam and honeycomb.
- Manage resins, oversee vacuum bagging systems, monitor curing processes in ovens or autoclaves, and perform demolding, trimming, and basic non-destructive testing such as tap tests.
- Bond structural parts, assemble major airframe sections including fuselage halves, wings, and tails, install hardpoints and fittings, and execute jig-based alignments.
- Construct, modify, and maintain workshop molds, jigs, and fixtures to streamline assembly and enhance overall production efficiency.
- Hands-on technical experience working with carbon fiber, fiberglass, resins, vacuum bagging systems, and precision mold preparation.
- Strong manufacturing literacy with the ability to utilize jig-based alignment setups, structural bonding adhesives, and basic shop tools.
- Demonstrated high craftsmanship, exceptional attention to structural detail, manual dexterity, and practical problem-solving skills for prototype rework.
