About the Role
African Industries Group (AIG) is a diversified global conglomerate with a legacy of 51 years of business excellence and sustainable growth, headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Training Manager with a strong background in Power, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Industrial Operations to lead the development and implementation of our technical and workforce training programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement annual training and development plans aligned with business and operational requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments across engineering, power plant, maintenance, and production functions.
- Identify technical and competency gaps to design impactful training interventions and safety programmes.
- Work closely with internal departments to coordinate internal and external trainers, consultants, and institutions.
- Establish and maintain competency frameworks and skills matrices for technical employees.
- Monitor training effectiveness, evaluate performance impact, and maintain accurate compliance documentation.
- Support succession planning through structured apprenticeships and graduate trainee initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Engineering, Human Resources, Education, or a related discipline.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, with substantial focus on Learning and Development within industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing technical training for power plant or engineering environments.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and programme management skills.
- Professional certification in HR or L&D such as CIPM, SHRM, or ATD is a strong advantage.
