Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, a prominent leader in the Nigerian manufacturing and milling sector renowned for its trusted Golden Penny brand, is seeking a diligent and proactive Site HSE Officer for Premier Feeds Mill. In this vital role, you will champion a zero-harm culture, ensuring that all operations adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental standards while safeguarding our workforce and assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the implementation of Critical to Safety (CSP) and Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) programmes to promote a strong safety culture across the site.
  • Identify workplace hazards and risks, implementing appropriate control measures to prevent accidents and incidents.
  • Participate in HSE audits and ensure timely closure of all identified audit gaps.
  • Review and periodically test site emergency response plans to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop Safe Systems of Work (SSW) for technical and hazardous activities.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing robust corrective and preventive actions.
  • Issue Permit-to-Work (PTW) approvals for non-routine and hazardous tasks carried out by employees and contractors.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of Integrated Pest Management programmes to protect products from infestation and contamination.
  • Conduct regular hygiene and housekeeping inspections to maintain high plant sanitation standards.

Qualifications
  • OND in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of cognate experience in an HSE role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation skills.
  • Ability to influence safe behaviours and drive compliance across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and training facilitation skills.
