About the Role
DP World is a leading global supply chain solutions provider, dedicated to making trade flow better across the globe. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Trainer: Driver to join our dynamic transport operations team in Lagos and Ogun, Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping the safety, efficiency, and professional development of our delivery officers and articulated truck drivers.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct instructional and practical training sessions for articulated truck drivers focusing on safe driving, vehicle maneuvering, and efficient operations.
- Develop and design a comprehensive training curriculum covering safety protocols, vehicle controls, traffic regulations, and load handling.
- Instruct new recruits on vehicle inspection protocols, safety features, and company policies through on-board and shadow monitoring.
- Deliver periodic refresher courses for experienced drivers to reinforce safe practices and update them on regulatory changes.
- Assess driver performance through practical tests, evaluations, and structured feedback sessions to identify skill gaps.
- Collaborate with the HSE unit to ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and security policies, and participate in incident investigations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of training activities, driver progress, and generate detailed outcome reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of postgraduate experience specifically training articulated truck drivers.
- Proven background in Transport and Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Warehousing, or Manufacturing.
- Relevant certifications in training, development, instructional design, or defensive driving are a distinct advantage.
