The Dangote Group is currently seeking a dynamic and detail-riented Trailer Operation Officer to join our vibrant logistics team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will oversee the strategic allocation of trailers to truck heads, maintain meticulous logs, and ensure our massive transport fleet operates at peak efficiency to support our nationwide supply chain network.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the daily allocation and reallocation of trailers to appropriate truck heads while maintaining accurate digital and physical truck logbooks.
- Coordinate closely with the workshop to follow up on pending trailer repairs and ensure timely, high-quality maintenance of all trailing equipment.
- Research and analyze historical equipment data to improve fleet availability and performance.
- Report all pending transport assignments and operational bottlenecks to the Transport Manager on a daily basis.
- Coordinate the timely repositioning of trailing assets to support manufacturing and distribution demands.
- Possession of an HND or Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng) in a related technical, operational, or engineering field.
- Relevant professional certifications, such as COREN registration, are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in fleet operations, transport management, or a closely related technical field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management, conflict resolution, negotiation, and effective communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of integrity, discretion, and people management capabilities.
