About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified manufacturing conglomerate, is seeking a skilled and dedicated TIG Welder to join our dynamic maintenance team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this vital role, you will perform high-quality precision welding, fabrication, and repair of industrial equipment, pressure piping systems, and structural components to ensure optimal plant reliability and asset integrity across our world-class facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Execute precision TIG welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, and aluminum in accordance with approved welding procedures and quality specifications.
- Carry out fabrication, modification, and repair of industrial piping systems, pressure vessels, structural components, and mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, welding symbols, blueprints, and fabrication sketches to ensure accurate execution.
- Perform meticulous joint preparation, beveling, surface cleaning, and material alignment prior to welding operations.
- Inspect completed welds for structural defects, ensuring full compliance with international quality standards and dimensional accuracy.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain welding machines, gas cylinders, torches, and associated workshop tools safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, including Permit-to-Work systems, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and hot work safety protocols.
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding and Fabrication, Metallurgical Engineering, or Trade Test Grade I, II, and III in a related technical trade.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on industrial TIG welding and fabrication experience within manufacturing, petrochemical, cement, or heavy industrial environments.
- Recognized professional certifications in TIG welding, industrial fabrication, and valid hot work safety training are distinct advantages.
