Key Responsibilities
  • Support practical laboratory sessions, student experiments, and academic research activities within the department.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot a wide range of modern laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Enforce strict laboratory safety protocols, quality assurance standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare chemical reagents, biological samples, and other necessary materials for practical classes and research projects.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of laboratory consumables, chemicals, and equipment, requesting replenishments as needed.
  • Assist in supervising students during laboratory sessions and ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.), Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant laboratory discipline.
  • Current and appropriate professional registration or license where applicable to the discipline.
  • Demonstrated post-qualification experience in a tertiary institution or recognized laboratory setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff and students.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
