About the Role

We are currently inviting applications from suitably qualified, dynamic, and experienced professionals for the position of Technologist II within the Department of University Laboratories, Laboratory Technical Services.
Key Responsibilities- Support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and practical laboratory sessions across relevant disciplines.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate sophisticated laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Enforce strict laboratory safety protocols, quality assurance standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare chemical reagents, biological samples, and other necessary materials for scheduled practical classes and experiments.
- Maintain comprehensive inventory records of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment, requesting replenishments as needed.
- Assist academic staff and students in conducting advanced research projects and testing procedures.
- Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.), Higher National Diploma (HND), or an equivalent professional qualification in a relevant laboratory science discipline.
- Current and appropriate professional registration or valid practicing licence where applicable to the discipline.
- Demonstrated relevant post-qualification experience commensurate with the Technologist II cadre in an academic or research laboratory.
- Deep understanding of modern laboratory equipment, quality assurance frameworks, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
- Excellent communication, organisational, time-management, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with faculty and students.
