About the Role
Al-Hikmah University, a premier private conventional institution in Ilorin, Nigeria, is seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to fill the position of Technologist II (AHUSS 07). In this role, you will play a vital part in facilitating practical learning, supporting cutting-acid research, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our laboratories while upholding our core values of academic and moral excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Assist academic staff and lecturers during practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate students.
- Prepare reagents, specimens, and equipment needed for experiments, practical classes, and research projects.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Enforce strict safety guidelines, laboratory protocols, and waste management procedures within the workspace.
- Keep accurate inventory records of laboratory chemicals, consumables, and hardware.
- Support student research activities and collaborate with faculty members on departmental projects.
- Possession of an O’Level Certificate with a minimum of five (5) credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
- A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy, or Physiology.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards and practical scientific procedures.
