About the Role
Nile University of Nigeria, a premier private multidisciplinary institution established in 2009 and a member of Honoris United Universities, seeks an exceptional Laboratory Technologist specializing in Biochemistry. Based in Abuja, our university offers over 40 undergraduate and 50 postgraduate programmes across eight distinguished faculties. Key Responsibilities- Prepare and conduct laboratory tests to generate precise, reliable data for scientific investigations and research projects
- Perform pre-class setup of apparatus, reagents, and materials for practical classes
- Assist in routine teaching and research laboratory operations, including maintenance and general upkeep duties
- Provide in-class operational support and facilitate undergraduate practical classes
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, investigating problems with test results, specimens, and workflows
- Recommend procurement of equipment, chemicals, and reagents based on laboratory needs
- Execute quality control procedures, maintain records, and document corrective measures
- Prepare and update safety documentation, conduct safety audits, and serve as the primary safety communication point for students and staff
- Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma in Biochemistry from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2 years of post-qualification professional experience in biochemistry or related laboratory field
- Current certification and practicing license from a relevant professional body
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency with MS Office and video conferencing platforms (MS Teams)
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines
