About the Role

Nile University of Nigeria is looking for a highly competent and result-oriented Technologist - Architecture to join its dynamic team in Abuja. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations, ensuring the availability of accurate data for scientific investigations, and providing hands-on support for teaching and research activities within the Architecture department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-class setup of apparatus, reagents, and materials for practical classes.
  • Assist in routine teaching and research laboratory work, including maintenance and general upkeep of equipment.
  • Provide general teaching-research support and in-class operational assistance during undergraduate practical sessions.
  • Advise on the procurement of equipment, chemicals, reagents, and materials required for laboratory or project work.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues relating to equipment, test results, specimens, or workflow processes.
  • Perform quality control procedures, maintain accurate records, and resolve discrepancies in test outcomes.
  • Support the daily operations, maintenance, and upkeep of laboratories and teaching facilities.
  • Prepare documentation for safety audits and assist in updating safety records and procedures.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related communication with students and departmental staff.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Architecture or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role.
  • Certified membership of a relevant professional body with a valid practicing license.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and video conferencing tools such as MS Teams.
