About the Role

Dangote Group, Africa's leading industrial conglomerate, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Technician, Mechanical L3&4 to join our manufacturing plant in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will perform essential mechanical tasks involving the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of heavy plant equipment and machinery. You will play a vital part in minimizing downtime, ensuring high-standard preventive and corrective maintenance, and contributing to our overarching goal of cost leadership and operational excellence across our expansive industrial network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Shift Technicians to promptly identify problematic equipment and execute timely repairs.
  • Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance and quality assurance.
  • Conduct corrective maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on assigned plant machinery.
  • Ensure stringent safety precautions are observed and appropriate PPE is worn during all operations.
  • Maintain weekly inventory of working tools and ensure proper care of plant tackle.
  • Perform data entry in ERP systems like SAP for spares and consumables management.
  • Report breakdowns exceeding 30 minutes to sectional engineers and conduct preliminary failure analyses.
  • Identify potential environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) hazards while maintaining a clean workspace.
Qualifications
  • SSCE with 10 to 20 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Alternatively, Trade Test I with 8 to 16 years, Trade Test II with 16 to 24 years, or OND in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of the cement production process and in-depth expertise in cement packing machines.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment accurately and swiftly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and excellent relationship management abilities.
