About the Role
Ignite Energy Access is an Abu Dhabi-based leader in distributed renewable energy solutions, dedicated to providing affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity to underserved communities across Africa. Operating across 12 countries and serving over 15 million people, we are transforming lives and driving the continent’s clean energy transition. We are currently looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Technician to join our dynamic team in Nigeria, playing a crucial role in maintaining system reliability and driving customer satisfaction through expert device repair and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out the refurbishment of Mysol batteries and appliances, ranging from full function checks to cosmetic repairs.
- Assess solar power system damages accurately, maintaining detailed records of testing and repair results.
- Perform basic accessory repairs and handle special technical testing requests as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tech center by strictly adhering to the 5S Methodology.
- Log repairs digitally and utilize mobile apps or technical documentation to guide troubleshooting processes.
- Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Technical Certificate, or Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience or basic technical training with electrical components, wiring, and diagnostic tools such as multimeters and soldering irons.
- Familiarity with solar home systems, including solar panels, batteries, charge controllers, and inverters.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with office tools like Google Docs and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to workplace safety standards.
