About the Role
Egbin Power Plc, located in Lagos, is one of the largest thermal power generation stations in Sub-Saharan Africa, dedicated to meeting Nigeria's rapidly growing energy demands. We are currently seeking a dynamic and analytical Technical Risk Management Lead to join our engineering team and provide independent oversight, identification, assessment, and mitigation of engineering and operational risks across our critical power generation assets.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the implementation of the Technical Risk Management Framework across generation and engineering functions.
- Maintain the Technical Risk Register, Critical Asset Risk Profile, and monitor risk tolerance levels using software such as BarnOwl.
- Conduct structured technical risk assessments including HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, RBI, and vulnerability assessments.
- Develop and monitor practical risk mitigation plans with engineering and operations teams to prevent forced outages and asset degradation.
- Ensure technical risk processes align with Enterprise Risk Management standards, ISO requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Promote a risk-informed decision-making culture and provide technical risk guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline.
- 5 to 6 years of experience in power utilities, hydrocarbon exploration, or asset-intensive industries.
- At least 3 years spent providing independent assurance over technical control effectiveness, plant reliability, and asset integrity.
- Independent certification or training by an accredited body in Risk and Reliability Engineering (e.g., CMRP, IRM).
- Proficiency in maintenance, operation, design engineering, and risk management software tools.
