About the Role
Egbin Power Plc, the largest thermal power generating station in Sub-Saharan Africa located in Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Engineer, Boiler Controls. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance for boiler control systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety across our operations in line with world-class engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure strict adherence to preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance schedules for all boiler control systems.
- Monitor the closure of trouble memos on the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM) and analyze equipment breakdowns to update maintenance schedules.
- Supervise control systems and instruments with a strong focus on operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.
- Enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines during all maintenance and operational activities.
- Provide technical support in spare parts planning, budget preparation, procurement, and equipment inspection.
- Manage human resources and personnel issues within the team, conducting periodic training needs assessments for staff development.
- Maintain risk registers and execute documentation in compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Systems Engineering.
- Relevant postgraduate or professional certifications will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of work experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity and direct exposure to I&C systems and power plant maintenance.
- Strong technical knowledge of I&C systems for boilers and auxiliaries, with a solid background in Emerson Ovation controls.
