About the Role
Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria's premier higher institution and a leader in technological and vocational education, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Technical Officer to join our dynamic workforce. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining technical infrastructure, supporting academic departments, and contributing to the practical learning experience of our 15,000 students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support and maintenance for laboratory equipment, machinery, and tools within designated departments.
- Assist academic staff and students during practical training sessions, workshops, and research activities.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards within all college workshops and laboratories.
- Conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot technical faults, and coordinate prompt repairs of institutional equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of tools, materials, and equipment assigned to the department.
- Collaborate with senior technical staff on institutional projects and special assignments to enhance operational efficiency.
- Candidates must possess a National Diploma (ND) or its equivalent in a relevant technical or engineering discipline with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- At least three (3) years of post-qualification cognate working experience in a similar academic or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting discipline-specific equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and administrative staff.
- Good communication skills and proficiency in basic computer operations and technical documentation.
