About the Role
American Tower Africa is a leading global provider of digital infrastructure assets, enabling seamless connectivity for communities in a sustainable and equitable manner. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Manager, Tower Maintenance to join our expanding team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will oversee tower maintenance operations, ensure strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and manage contractor performance to guarantee optimal network availability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor tower maintenance works and deliverables to ensure compliance with the Tower Maintenance Agreement for owned and managed sites.
- Review structural inspection reports, bills of quantities, and photographs for accuracy, identifying major risks and implementing timely mitigation solutions.
- Manage tower painting programs and ensure the continuous functionality of Aircraft Warning Lights using remote monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with field supervisors to perform periodic quality audits and maintain up-to-date antenna inventory databases.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian health, safety, and environment legislation, as well as company-specific occupational health standards.
- HND or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in quality assurance, field engineering, construction, or rectification of wireless communication structures.
- Certified tower climber with active membership in a relevant professional engineering society.
- Extensive experience in contractor management, budgeting, negotiations, and technical problem-solving.
- Strong command of general construction safety practices, materials quality, and maintenance documentation workflows.
