About the Role
HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a leading player in the building solutions industry, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Manager - A&C to join our growing operations. In this critical leadership role, you will champion our commitment to quality, safety, and innovation by effectively managing concrete quality procedures, driving mix design optimization, and ensuring the highest standards across our aggregates and concrete plants.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all equipment and processes strictly adhere to company Health & Safety roadmaps, conducting regular VFL visits and leading safety action items.
- Select, characterize, and validate raw material sources while optimizing mix designs and implementing IT quality control programmes.
- Provide expert technical support to sales teams, resolve product-related customer claims, and drive the development of Value-Added Products (VAPs).
- Implement comprehensive quality policies, manage technical compliance, and analyze QC results to track and improve operational KPIs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the quality control team, aligning competencies with evolving business needs and industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Chemical Engineering; an MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a distinct advantage.
- 10 to 15 years of relevant professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role within the ready-mix concrete or construction materials sector.
- Deep technical expertise in concrete technology, raw material optimization, quality management systems, and cost-efficiency.
- Proven track record of leading technical teams, managing cross-functional stakeholders, and driving operational excellence.
- High flexibility and willingness to travel domestically as required by operations.
