About the Role
Malaria Consortium is one of the world's leading non-profit organizations dedicated to comprehensive malaria control and public health service delivery in Africa and Asia. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Assistant to provide critical field support in Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT, Nigeria, between September and November 2026. This role ensures the flawless execution of Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) implementation activities in the absence of a Field Assistant, directly contributing to our mission of reducing the burden of malaria.
Key Responsibilities- Support the quality implementation and delivery of SMC services at health facilities and household levels within Gwagwalada Area Council.
- Coordinate planning, commodity distributions, community mobilization, and monitoring activities to prevent stock-outs.
- Provide supportive supervision, on-the-job training, and capacity building for health facility workers and community drug distributors.
- Ensure data quality assurance, assist M&E officers with data queries, and review implementation reports for accuracy.
- Liaise with local government authorities, the State Ministry of Health, and community leaders to foster strong partnerships and community ownership.
- Manage reverse logistics for used and unused SPAQ commodities and compile comprehensive end-of-cycle reports.
- A degree in Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Social Sciences, Pure Sciences, or a related Public Health field.
- At least 5 years of proven field experience in SMC implementation and public health programs.
- Fluency in English and Hausa (or other relevant local languages) is strictly required.
- Demonstrated expertise in drug and commodity supply management, M&E, and logistics.
- Familiarity with data collection tools such as SurveyCTO and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse community stakeholders and local government staff.
