About the Role
WTS Energy is a leading consultant and manpower supply company to the international oil, gas, and energy industry, operating globally across 16 countries. We are currently recruiting a dynamic Technical and Contracts Manager on behalf of our esteemed client in the upstream marine support sector. This pivotal role bridges technical operations with commercial strategy, acting as the primary technical authority while driving client relationships and contract performance within the Nigerian market.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary technical authority and central liaison with vessel management companies, operators, and on-board management teams.
- Monitor vessel technical performance, planned maintenance systems (PMS), and dry-dock or special survey programmes.
- Ensure all vessels maintain valid class certificates, statutory surveys, and strict flag-state compliance.
- Evaluate crewing standards, officer competency, and crew change logistics with manning agents.
- Review and approve operating budgets (OPEX) and capital expenditure proposals within delegated authority.
- Manage technical fleet risks and advise executive management on strategic vessel decisions.
- Oversee daily marine support operations while championing a zero-harm safety culture compliant with ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS, and Nigerian maritime regulations.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in the upstream oil and gas or marine sector, with at least 4 years in technical ship management or vessel operations.
- Solid working knowledge of offshore support vessels (OSVs) including PSVs, AHTSs, FSOs, crew boats, and barges.
- Demonstrable sea-going experience or a maritime Certificate of Competency (CoC) as a ship's engineer or technical superintendent.
- Familiarity with the Nigerian upstream oil and gas environment and major IOC client requirements.
