About the Role
Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, a leading brand in the Nigerian insurance industry with a strong regional footprint, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to join our team as the Team Lead, Motor Underwriting. In this pivotal role, you will oversee our motor insurance portfolio, drive profitability, and guide a talented team of underwriters to deliver exceptional service to our valued stakeholders across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and underwrite complex motor insurance risks end-to-end, determining appropriate premiums in line with company guidelines and risk appetite.
- Manage the complete policy lifecycle including inception, debiting, quotations, issuance of motor certificates, endorsements, and co-insurance schedules.
- Protect the motor portfolio by mitigating potential risks and ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Motor Underwriting team, conducting performance evaluations and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the Claims, Finance, and sales departments to ensure efficient underwriting operations and business growth.
- A good first degree from a reputable tertiary institution; a Master's degree is an added advantage.
- Mandatory qualification with the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), with other relevant professional certifications being beneficial.
- 6 to 9 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 4 years specifically focused on motor insurance underwriting.
- Proficiency in computer applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and modern insurance management or underwriting software.
