About the Role

First Bank of Nigeria Limited is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented professional to join our Credit Risk Management team as Team Lead, Credit Secretariat. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the seamless coordination of Management Credit Committee (MCC) and Board Credit Committee (BCC) meetings, ensuring efficient governance, accurate documentation, and strict adherence to credit policies within Nigeria’s premier financial institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate Management Credit Committee (MCC) and Board Credit Committee (BCC) meetings, ensuring complete agendas and timely preparation.
  • Supervise the circulation of credit papers to Group Heads and Heads of Departments, and upload materials to Microsoft Teams and BoardEffect.
  • Record comprehensive meeting minutes and review committee decision extracts to ensure accuracy within strict turnaround times.
  • Liaise with the Office of the Company Secretary, Value Chain Management, and Business Units to resolve complaints and maximize business opportunities.
  • Handle departmental Business Continuity Plan (BCP) compliance, Information Security audits, and resolve internal/external audit exceptions.
  • Manage departmental asset registers, budget control, and coordinate the quarterly publication of delinquent customer names.

Qualifications
  • First and Master’s degrees in any discipline; a background in Law or Linguistics is an added advantage.
  • Relevant professional certifications in banking, risk management, or corporate governance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of cognate experience in credit administration, secretariat duties, or risk management within the banking sector.
  • Strong understanding of credit approval processes, credit policies, and banking operations.
  • Exceptional business writing, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, with familiarity in platforms like Fintrak.
