About the Role
African Natural Resources & Mines Limited (ANRML), a key subsidiary of the African Industries Group, is seeking a safety-focused and results-driven Switchyard Engineer to join our expanding operations in Kaduna State. In this critical role, you will oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and reliability of high-voltage switchyard equipment, ensuring seamless power distribution for our industrial processes.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the safe operation, inspection, and maintenance of high-voltage switchyard and substation equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for transformers, circuit breakers, and busbars.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, conduct root-cause analyses, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and energization of new or modified switchyard installations.
- Enforce strict electrical safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work systems, and proper switching procedures.
- Interpret single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and protection control drawings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of equipment performance, maintenance logs, and compliance reports.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in switchyard, substation, or high-voltage industrial electrical systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and earthing networks.
- Demonstrated expertise in high-voltage switching operations and safety compliance.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and technical reporting skills.
