About the Role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a dynamic and experienced National Project Officer (Private Sector Engagement) to join its team in Nigeria. Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in migration, committed to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead our efforts to build robust partnerships with corporations, foundations, chambers of commerce, and international financial institutions to support critical humanitarian and development programmes across Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of IOM Nigeria’s Private Sector Engagement Strategy through targeted outreach, stewardship, and corporate collaboration.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and maintain an updated database to identify fundraising, visibility, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) opportunities.
  • Identify and develop new private sector and International Financial Institution (IFI) programme opportunities, drafting partner profiles and value propositions.
  • Ensure due diligence, legal vetting, and strict adherence to IOM compliance policies and risk management frameworks.
  • Represent IOM Nigeria at corporate forums, high-level meetings, and multi-stakeholder platforms to advance migration governance initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in International Relations, Development, Political or Social Sciences, Migration Studies, Law, or a related field with 5 years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in private sector engagement, CSR initiatives, partnership development, or corporate fundraising within the humanitarian or development sectors.
  • Strong background in corporate actor mapping, outreach facilitation, and donor relations.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and report-writing skills with high proficiency in English.
  • Proven ability to establish effective working relationships with governmental authorities, international institutions, and private sector leaders.
