About the Role
Standard Life Organization (S.L.O), a leading NGO-Microfinance Institution dedicated to the socio-economic empowerment of vulnerable individuals, is seeking a diligent and integrity-driven professional to join our team in Edo as an Internal Control Officer. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our financial assets, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining strict adherence to regulatory standards and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor daily compliance with established company policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
- Conduct routine operational checks, transaction reviews, and audits across designated branches.
- Identify control weaknesses, operational risks, and financial irregularities promptly.
- Review financial transactions, records, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive, and timely internal control and audit reports for management.
- Follow up on identified audit exceptions and ensure effective implementation of corrective actions.
- Support investigations into operational discrepancies and fraud prevention initiatives.
- Collaborate with various departments to strengthen compliance and streamline control processes.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of all control reviews, findings, and recommendations.
- Minimum of a B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Age between 22 and 35 years.
- Proficiency in computer applications and financial management software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure.
