About the Role

Standard Chartered Bank is seeking a dedicated and analytical professional to join our dynamic team as Supervisor, Cash Ops - Payment Processing in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will oversee daily operational activities relating to international payment transactions, ensuring seamless service delivery while strictly adhering to internal policies, CBN regulations, and compliance controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the end-to-end processing of outward telegraphic transfers (OTT), foreign currency clearing, and STS cheques in compliance with regulatory controls.
  • Conduct first and second-level call-back confirmations for OTT transactions and branch requests within delegated authority limits.
  • Investigate and resolve delayed or non-receipt of OTTs, ITTs, and outstanding Nostro and suspense account items promptly.
  • Liaise with global processing teams such as GBS Chennai and internal stakeholders to resolve inquiries, chasers, and sanction-related matters.
  • Perform Key Control Reviews, support Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) strategies, and maintain a robust compliance culture.
  • Monitor and mitigate operational and money laundering risks by adhering to KYC principles and reporting suspicious transactions.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment by complying with health and safety protocols and reporting workplace hazards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on banking experience in payment operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange manual, SWIFT standards, and internal payment policies.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, resolve workflow bottlenecks, and improve operational productivity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Adaptable, independent, and capable of identifying, analyzing, and managing operational risks proactively.
