About the Role
Starsight Energy provides premier clean on-grid and off-grid energy services to commercial and industrial clients across Africa, making sustainable power a smart bottom-line decision by eliminating upfront costs. We are currently seeking a meticulous and driven Senior Internal Audit Officer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will work closely with the Manager, Internal Audit to execute critical governance, risk management, and control functions, ensuring our processes remain efficient, compliant, and robust.
Key Responsibilities- Support the performance and control of the full internal audit cycle, focusing on operational effectiveness, financial reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Execute audit assignments in accordance with instructions and approved annual audit plans to achieve strategic objectives.
- Verify the physical existence of company assets and recommend robust safeguards for their protection.
- Assist in developing organization-wide policies while conducting periodic reviews of existing frameworks to recommend improvements.
- Conduct follow-up reviews to monitor management interventions and the successful implementation of audit recommendations.
- Maintain continuous knowledge development regarding industry rules, regulations, best practices, and emerging audit techniques.
- Prepare comprehensive special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial information and trends.
- Support business activities and risk assessments relating to regional expansion initiatives.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in auditing and finance, preferably including background experience in an audit firm.
- Good overall knowledge of accounting principles, business operations, and risk management techniques.
- Strong proficiency in IT tools, MS Dynamics 365, and advanced Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Relevant professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIA will be an added advantage.
