About the Role
SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Subsea Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic workforce in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will represent upstream production and act as the primary contact in the chain of command, occasionally serving as RSES-D for vessel operations. You will oversee deep offshore multi-million-dollar subsea operations on drilling rigs, OIMR, and LWI vessels, managing up to 30 service contractor personnel while ensuring strict compliance with HSE standards and company policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Subsea Operations Supervisor, your daily duties and strategic functions will include:
- Accountability for the safe and efficient execution of subsea, XT, completion, intervention, work-over, and drilling operations up to $20M per well.
- Acting as the offshore focal point for safety, technical, and operational leadership for all subsea operations in deepwater assets.
- Overseeing preparation, planning, optimization, and execution of deepwater subsea operations including top hole, upper completions, well testing, and life of field support.
- Ensuring valid Permits to Work (PTW) are in place, capturing all associated risks, and driving emergency response protocols.
- Providing financial oversight for operational spend, equipment, and personnel during the service execution phase.
- Mentoring junior supervisors and young engineers while fostering a LEAN continuous improvement culture and documenting lessons learned via WELLVIEW.
- Performing key onshore duties such as writing operational reports, vetting equipment testing, participating in HAZIDS/HAZOPS, and conducting technical audits.
To be considered for this vital position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor of Engineering/Technology or equivalent technical Diploma.
- Minimum of 5 to 15 years of relevant technical experience in offshore subsea, intervention, and completion roles.
- Demonstrated experience in Subsea Production Systems (SPS) equipment installation for major contractors such as OneSubsea, TechnipFMC, and Aker Solutions.
- Valid industry certifications including IWCF and Certificate of Competency (COC).
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and large operational budgets in a high-risk offshore environment.
