About the Role
J3 Foods and Stores International is a leading name in the food distribution and retail sector across Nigeria, committed to making quality and affordable food products accessible. We are currently seeking a diligent and experienced Storekeeper to join our growing warehouse and supply chain team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining inventory accuracy, enforcing proper stock handling procedures, and supporting efficient daily warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate stock records using manual or digital inventory management tools.
- Conduct daily stock counts and reconcile physical inventory against system records.
- Enforce strict FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First-Out) principles to minimize waste.
- Monitor inventory thresholds, report low stock levels, and coordinate timely restocking.
- Identify and report slow-moving stock proactively to prevent product expiration.
- Ensure all inventory activities strictly follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in comprehensive stock audits with proper documentation.
- Oversee proper storage practices, including product labeling, safe stacking, and temperature monitoring for perishables.
- Coordinate and verify the accuracy of all stock-related documentation such as GRNs, waybills, and delivery notes.
- Investigate stock variances, damages, or shortages, providing root cause analysis and reporting to the Head of Warehouse Operations.
- Submit comprehensive daily and weekly performance and inventory reports to management.
- Minimum of an OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of proven work experience as a Storekeeper, Inventory Officer, or Warehouse Assistant, preferably in the FMCG or food distribution industry.
- Proficiency in using digital inventory systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
- Strong numerical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse safety, FIFO/FEFO principles, and stock auditing.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
